*Special Events: Deep Dive Weekends, Workshops, Speaking Engagements, and other special events are arranged on an individual basis. We advertise these events on our social media platforms as we plan them, so please check in with us regularly in order to not miss out on something just right for you!

*Custom Package: If you are interested in planning an event or series of events customized for a specific group, and/or a specific need, please contact us and we can talk about how we can serve you.

*Cancellation Policy: Since we reserve space in our schedules to meet with clients, we ask that you notify us at least 24 hours in advance when you are unable to make an appointment. Otherwise, you will be charged the full rate of the session.

How can I pay you?

We accept cash, check, and credit cards (as well as Health Savings Account credit cards), and Quick Pay with Zelle. You can also pay securely and directly on this site through our client portal.

Can I use my insurance to pay for your services?

We are in-network with Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO and Blue Cross/Blue Choice, United Health Care/Optum, Magellan, and Advocate Physician Partners.

If you do not have one of these insurance plans, it is still possible that you can use your insurance to pay for our services. Many insurance policies offer out-of-network benefits which means you can be reimbursed for a substantial portion of our psychotherapy services. We can either provide you with a detailed invoice which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement, or you can utilize our complimentary billing services.

*Divorce services other than those related to therapy are not covered by insurance.

Final Thoughts:

We know that navigating the insurance maze can be confusing and frustrating, and we’re willing to help. If you’re unsure of your policy benefits, we can verify them for you. If you would prefer to research your policy on your own, here are some questions that will be helpful for you to ask your insurance provider:

  • What is my coverage for in-network and out-of-network mental health providers?
  • Do I need pre-approval from my insurance provider?
  • Do I need a referral from my primary care physician?
  • Do I have a deductible? If so, how much do I have left on that deductible for this year?
  • Do I have a yearly maximum benefit? (number of visits or dollar amount)

Any Further Questions:

Please reach out if we can answer any further questions. We look forward to hearing from you!

What will happen in my first session with you?

In the first session or two, we will gather information about you, your relationships, your environment, your concerns, etc. Then, we will begin working with you on a plan tailored to meet your particular needs in a way that feels right to you and which fits with your personality and values.  The first few sessions are not only about us getting to know you; they are also about you getting to know us.  In order for you to get the most out of your sessions, we want to be sure that you feel comfortable, understood, and seen. If for any reason you do not feel like we are a good fit for you, we are committed to helping you find the right therapist, and we can give you personalized referrals.

Can you tell me more about your online therapy services?

We literally want to be able to meet with you wherever you are in life. Sometimes, that means that you would benefit from being able to talk with us from wherever you need to be…including the comfort of your own home. We don’t want our services to be location dependent, or for proximity to be a barrier to working with us.

We offer the option of online counseling for residents of Illinois and Virginia, as well as expats living internationally who may find it difficult to find access to counseling services.
Online therapy isn’t for everyone.
Reach out to us to schedule a free, 15 minute phone consultation and let’s see if it will work for you.
