Lauren Bergiel, CMHCI, PCC

Lauren is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern (CMHCI) and a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coaching Federation (ICF). She is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counseling and Human Development at Walsh University, with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (expected graduation May 2026), and is working toward licensure as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Illinois.

Since 2020, Lauren has helped hundreds of individuals through personal and professional transformation as a Certified Life and Leadership Coach, including through her work with BetterUp. As a cancer survivor, she understands the disorientation and depth of rebuilding one’s life after loss and change. Later in life, she made a significant career shift after a successful chapter in real estate, choosing to realign her life with her values and well-being. These pivotal experiences deeply inform her work with adults navigating burnout, identity shifts, and the courageous process of personal reinvention.

Authenticity, curiosity, and deep presence are at the heart of her work. Lauren takes a collaborative, client-centered approach to therapy, offering a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to explore, heal, and grow. She honors each client’s autonomy while offering practical tools and gentle guidance to help build confidence, clarity, and alignment.

Her areas of focus include anxiety, depression, stress management, life transitions, relationship and attachment concerns—with an emphasis on healthy communication and emotional expression—grief and loss, post-illness recovery, identity and self-worth, values-based decision-making, and other growth-oriented challenges. She also helps single women navigate questions around partnership, family, and purpose. Lauren is passionate about the therapeutic power of creativity and often integrates expressive arts as a gentle, meaningful tool for healing and self-discovery.

She works from a humanistic foundation, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Existential Theory. She is strengths-based and LGBTQ+ affirming.

Based in Paris, France, Lauren offers virtual counseling to adults throughout Illinois—bringing a grounded, expansive perspective to those in seasons of transition, healing, and growth.

Outside the therapy room, you can find her immersed in paper crafting or dancing salsa—both joyful reminders of what it means to stay connected to play, purpose, and movement.
